I currently live in Ontario, Canada and I need to know if it's illegal to ship a laser pointer over 5mW across the border, i need to know since I am interested in buying an 80mW. Hopefully customs will not seize or fine me for ordering anything over 5mW. If someone has already ordered a powerful laser over 5mW to canada or if somebody knows if it's legal to ship it or own it in canada, please respond, thank you very much!  |

Sorry for the delay in response, it seems that there are not a lot of Canadians on this board, anyways, Canada is not a risky country to ship lasers to, there are no regulations for lasers as far as I know in Canada. I know this because I know of a company or really just a one man show selling lasers from Canada that are high outputs and without FDA approval. Since there is no FDA regulation in Canada, there is zero risk in receiving a laser in Canada. We haven't had a single shipment seized by customs for over 6 months worldwide including the United States. We once had an issue with using the regular mail system in the USA early this year, but the problem was caused by us including batteries in our packages which are by itself not allowed in mail anymore. We ship using express courier instead of the mail service to make our deliveries faster and more securely.
