Hi,
I would like to have a 5mW laser ( I think more power is dangerous!!) but i'm not sure for which to buy??
First i want to know which wicked lasers have 5mw model?
I hear that Spyder III has a 5mW model but i dont know which to use core or spyder 3 ??
Please tell me which is better and which has the best quality?

I guess the spyder III is better, but its not really worth it in my opinion. The spyder III series were initially just for the >100mW range, but they made a lot more of them for some reason. The core will be just as stable, but without all the extra stuff.

And the Core isn't waterproof, but the Spyder III is.

the difference between the laser shades and shields is just look and price.

My first laser was an executive extreme 55mW. Great for a first laser. Pop balloons, point out stars. You want something that is strong enough to have a beam at night. I suggest an Executive Series Classic 20mW. It will shoot for miles, point out stars, and hit clouds.

35 or 55mW is a very good starting laser, for people who have little experience. But if you are going for a 5mW laser, here is a quick comparison

CORE:
    About $60
    Smaller
    Weighs Less
    NOT Waterproof
1.2 mRad <------the lower the better
1.5 beam size <-------Generally lower is better
    2 AAA batteries
    90 minutes life
    5,000 lifetime

SPYDER III
    About $100
    Larger (and sturdier)
    Waterproof
    1.5 mRad
    1.5 Beam size
    Comes with rechargeable battery back
40 mins battery life <------probably longer than that, because that is for the 500mW one too.
    5,000 hr lifetime

Other things to keep in mind:
    Both are FDA approved
    The Spyder will have minilocks
    No duty cycle on either
The spyder button is a push button constant On / Off
The Core button is just press and it will stay on.
Warranty for Spyder is 3 months, for Core is 1 year
Spyder is over twice as thick and almost twice as long.

EDIT:
YAY 600th post!

I was sarching awhile on the internet , when i confront this answer from the yahoo answers:
Hi, just a big tip: NEVER buy lasers from wickedlasers. They sell underpowered, low quality, overpriced lasers. Do you want green lasers go here instead: .......
Is it true??
By the way ... Most of my thinking is the safety of the laser... i know i'll be carefull with that but i don't need to pop baloons or light a match or burning trash bags... I only need a laser to have a visible beam and dot for good distances AND A GOOD SAFYETY .... and also it must be cool and a beautiful body like spyder III ...
I think 5mW is the Most secure laser.
Wanted more info.
Thanks a lot guys Very Happy

There are hundreds of smaller laser companies out there. I would not be surprised at all if one of them wrote that. Often, people will get overpowered lasers from WL, and I don't think I have heard any stories of underpowered lasers from WL. Even if your laser does come underpowered, you can send it back for a professional reevaluation, and they can give you a new one for free.

The main complaint about wicked lasers is that they are too expensive, which they are. I mean, there not too expensive, but they cost more than the average cheap green laser. This is because the casing is very advanced, the diodes are much more stable, and they are FDA approved as well.

Still, I can not completely say that this in untrue, being that I don't own a WL, but there are hundreds of other people that do on these forums, and almost every one of them is satisfied.

Does anybody have a real picture of the Spyder III and the Core?? (Not those in the site)
And why does the lasershades and the lasershields goggles have price difference?
Is this price difference relevance to the safety of the goggles?is the goggles NECESSARY?
In order to i must order a goggle with any laser for my safety, all the two laser will be become near 100 USD ...so there is no price difference ... So i must buy a laser which is worthful... Which one do you suggest?

The Spyder II comes in a bunch of different powers/colors. The 299800 Wicked Bucks means that if you refer a friend to the site, or through other means gain 299800 WB's, you can get the laser for free.

If you want safety and stability, the spyder is your best bet, but I cant be sure because you will probably be one of the first people to buy it.

At 5mW you will:
    See the dot quite well
See the beam very slightly on very dark nights
See the beam when it is foggy.
NOT be able to burn anything (unless you get and EXTREMELY overpowered one {which happens sometimes} or mod it)
Maybe see the dot on clouds? (I don't know first hand if you can or not)

Also- unless you are VERY irresponsible, its you wont need goggles. As long as you don't purposely shine it into your eyes, you will be fine. Even in a reflection, your eye will blink within a fraction of a second, and 5mW wont do any damage. But 55mW and up, you should definitely get shades.

Though I wish we could get 299800 Wicked Bucks, you can't. It says that you can get "up to" 299800 Wicked Bucks. This really just means that you will get that many, if you purchase the most expensive model, which would be the 500mW. Sorry to have broken your hopes!
