I was wondering. I don't have a laser yet but do you need to wear goggles when starpointing? and should others around you wear them? I know you need them for close up burning but do you for balloon popping. BTW i'm talking about a Wicked x - 105. Rolling Eyes

No, you don't need them for starpointing. They are even useless for starpointing, since you won't see the beam when you wear goggles.

Lasers and Astronomy, what a great combination

A girlfriend (or boyfriend), a beer and a wicked laser, what more could anyone want. (However, be careful with the combination of those). Smile

A Nexus is overkill for starpointing. 5-40mW will do nicely, depending on light pollution.

I'm sure if you were with a group of people, who had telescopes and thing of the like you might be able to get away with it. But as for "I wanted to show this one person beside me, absolutely nothing" probably wouldn't.
