Ok guys, I went to the hardware store recently, and came across these little rubber/urethane caps that are designed to be put on the end of steel rods or dowels. It just so happens that they fit the wicked lasers perfectly on the end! Razz It forms a nice airtight seal around the casing, and keeps all the dust and moisture out. They are soft, and protect the end of the laser in case you accidently drop it from a few inches (assuming it lands on the cap...). Here are some pictures I just took.

And the best part is, they stay put with no chance of it accidently coming off. Also, it easily pops off with a gentle tug so you dont have to fiddle with tape or clumsy bags every time you want to use your laser! A six pack cost less than 1 dollar! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Wow! Very nice. These will be handy for many people including myself, infact I'm going to check out the local hardware store on the way home from work and see if I can grab a pack.

I've used the end of a toothpaste tube on mine.
it fits perfectly with a tight fit, and all you need to do it flip it open to use. no need to fumble with little rubber stoppers at the end Smile
It doesnt' offer the same impact protection from a few inches tho, but I have a lanyard to keep it falling greater distances.

oh, and it doesn't cost anything extra (after you finish with the toothpaste) Smile

this is an older photo of it. I took this pic after i Modded it to incorporate a lens to concentrate the beam.
I've also relocated my warning sticker a little lower so the cap doesn't scrunch it up.

I actually threw away the package, but they were just some generic "dowel rod end covers". If you go to the hardware store, ask somebody there and they should be able to show you where they are. I would bring in a photo of it. I dont really know exactly what department they would be in, but Im going back to Home Depot this weekend to try and find out where they were.

I almost forgot, they come in all sorts of colors, and the shiny black ones look really classy on the end of the laser. Cool

I made that exact same toothpaste top last month!

It wouldnt be difficult to produce a screw cap with a neat little hinged lid... if u had the tools/skills.

Did u ever try powering the laser with the cap closed?

If it's a red or black cap, depending on how thick and soft the platic is, it would possibly burn a hole through it.
