Got a couple free about 2 weeks ago. I asked the company for a free sample of green or white and they sent 2 blacks ones and then 4 very long and thin caps (2 green and 2 white), I guess because they didn't have the 1/2" caps in green or white. They fit great but burn very easily no matter what green laser you have. Best of all they didn't cost a single thing, not even for postage!

I'm thinking if you poke a pinhole in the top of these caps it will relieve the pressure but still keep the dust out. Making it easier to remove maybe.
Any thoughts on this?

It's easy to remove anyway, just put ur fingers on the bottom of the cap and pull off, but if you're seriously weak then just buy ventilated caps that allow gases to pass through but not dirt or dust. These caps aren't really necessary, I leave mine off now but have kept it on for a while and I prefer being able to just pick up my laser and use it instantly. Come the day when I find myself walking through a desert or somewhere with abnormal dust problems then I'll use a cap. Actually, without using sarcasm now, it's gonna be winter soon and if by some rare miracle we get snow in Manchester or whilst I'm away in Belgium then I will use a cap!

As far as I am concerned there might be suction when taking the cap off. That might suck the lens right out or mess something up.

i stuck a knife in the head of mine and twisted it around in circles, so i think that helps a lot. and when i take it off i make sure i dont twist or just pull straight off. i jam my fingernail under the seal

Well if you are smart enough you can pry it up, and after about a month it loosens up. These truly are the saver's of lasers. I always have mine on and i rarely have to clean the lense.

You could always put a real small hole in the tip that is small enough to keep out the majority of the dust, while big enough to help ease the suction.

There is no way that sucktion can pull out the lens with these caps, so go on, take a little bit of a risk in your life! Laughing

put the cap on your laser, and poke a hole about 2mm further than the end of the aparture, so it has a complete seal untill you pull it off just a little, of course you could use your nail, but whatever..

If you get the right size it's absoutely fine and slides off easily but you can also get a semi-permeable cap that allows some gas exchange. There's no point but you can alwasy ask for one of each as a sample.

And I can't believe I spelt SUCTION wrong! Shocked
