Unfortunately I found out today that my Spyder was unable to let me write my name in a piece of printer paper.
I started out hopeful but as I proceded to each letter it became obvious before I even finished that something was off:

That last "letter" looks like a bird :p
Your spyder is too powerful, I'd send that one to me and request a lower power.
Did you even have to make a black mark on the paper? _________________

heh
This whole topic is heavily sarcastic in case anyone gets confused. I just found it really funny that I couldnt do a trick because of the Spyders power.
EDIT in response to blacksheeps edit:
Yes I used a permanet marker to attempt some letters but as you can see it went a bit out of bounds. _________________

According to some other threads I recently read I should clarify that these paper holes were not caused by a an open flame. They were the result of the area around the the laser point heating up to a red glow and continuing to expand outward. I do not want to give an innacurate description of my units capabilities. _________________

I know your complaint was tongue in cheek, but if you really want to pursue
burning your name into paper without this happening, what about this?
Put the sheet of paper into a clear plastic bag, suck out as much air as possible,
and then replace it with an inert gas -- carbon dioxide or nitrogen for instance.
Laser shines thru plastic, toasts paper, but paper doesn't combust because no
oxygen.
You could buy some dry ice to obtain carbon dioxide. |
