Got some restutution for my 55mW problem and got a deal on a pulsar, so now with the phoenix I returned I should be getting a working phoenix and a pulsar! Any heads ups with the pulsar? I don't have any goggles so I'll be doing limited tricks with it.. _________________

| Even though it's pretty cool, the beam at night won't wow you.. Just the nature of red. Add some fog or smoke though and it's pretty nice to look at. |

Nope, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. ;-) Kinda eats up batteries.
Wonder if Nexus would consider designing a new model around AA instead of AAA? |

I don't expect to be too wowed by the red. I really want something different as I haven't owned anything but greens since the end of 2005 when my 5mw red broke. _________________

Well, my Pulsar is a balloon-popping demon. I've cut thru electrical tape, and punched holes in a blue plastic beer cup.
Oh yeah, by the way, everyone's talked about how a green laser can punch a hole in a red beer cup.
Well I tried out my pulsar on a blue cup, and it took about 10 seconds, but it punched right thru!
As usual, the secret is to hold it perfectly steady. Can't do it by hand. |

the pulsar is alot beter with bateries than my 80mw because its only got a 100mw diode in it
youll never see a fluctuation
with a lense on it you can burn just as good as a nexus if not a fussion
if you have alot of spare time and lenses make a colimator to shrink the beam to useable density, thatl be awesome scence the pulsars biggest weakness is its huge beam, makes the spot seem alot larger but really kills the tricks side of things.
the beam is barley visible compared to the phoenix, it is a dim red that can be seen if you put your line of vision alont the beam
at a 90 deg angle it is invisible except for a couple bits of dust in the air.
if you have any fog or dust in the air at all the beam is nice at night, if your being pointed at its also somewhat visible.
its not enough to go get excited over but as was stated before its really nice to look at
and the best part is there is no duty cycle at all so you can just leave it on and walk to the other side of the room to view the beam nicley. _________________ 80mW baby! arr |
