Hi, i'd likt to know if Wicked Lasers have a built-id power regulator such as a diode driver to guarantee a the required current values?
Best Regards

I don't know. All the lasers I've used that came from Wicked tended to be OEM so that there's no over-stressing to the diodes. All the other suppliers that mod their <5mW lasers suffer a high rate of diode-death. The only reason you can't let the Wicked lasers run 24/7 is because there's no external heatslink and that heat will otherwise build up on the higher output models. As it is, I don't see how you could need more than these lasers already put out. One thing's for certain, there's no way a Leadlight would handle the output from these sorts of 500mW IR diodes in the Wickeds. Something would have to give. Personally, I'm surprised these ELITE series lasers don't heat up more than the slight warmth they generate near the aperture. I was expecting more heat so this is great.

Changchun (who supply the Z-Bolt large-Cell lasers) told me they only recommend using their lasers for 20 seconds at a time for optimum result/life. Now these models have a heatsink and several other design features. That's actually the reason I went for Wicked's selection instead... smaller package and better expectations. I came close to buying one of those bulky PGL II models though. I'm glad I didn't because the larger batteries and 2 second delay (not to mention the other 'safety' features that further cripple those particular models) would have driven me nuts if I was trying to photograph with them.
