I believe that EBay might have placed new rules online about sellers and laser pointers. Presently, they don't want people selling pointers which are too powerful. And the safe limit determined by EBay is of course <5mW. Beyond this strength there are safety issues. So EBay, in an effort to protect itself from lawsuits by idiots, removed lasers from their lists and later allowed them back on as long as a clear definition was made as to what their purpose is and making sure that no laser pointers are sold that exceed the FDA approved strength of <5mW.

Now there's plenty of powerful laser devices available on Ebay and even online in general. But it's important to note that using any device over <5mW is potentially dangerous (however, the risk is slight until you reach say <15mW and higher). So it's very important that any portable laser device be labelled as a 'Laser Module' so that people don't try using it as a pointer. Essentially, it's a 'pointer' but far too powerful to be legally sold and used as one. I actually like the reference to these more powerful laser devices as Modules as it makes the user recognise that there's a big difference between the two. And hopefully, will prevent accidents from happening. All the Wicked Lasers over <5mW are classified as Modules/Devices and NOT pointers because it might be harmful to use them as such. ESPECIALLY the mid strength to high strength modules.

Pointers:
In America the Legal safe-to-sell 'Laser Pointer' strength is <5mW (but not over)
In England the Legals afe-to-sell 'Laser Pointer' strength is <1mW (but not over)
In Australia the Legal safe-to-sell 'Laser Pointer' strength is <1mW (but not over)

Laser Modules
Anything over <5mW is classified as a Laser Module or Laser Device. This can have many practical applications other than pointer.
These laser Modules can be in the shape of a pointer or even in the guise of a fully animated laser show setup sixteen feet long.
The USA has restrictions on using any type of laser depending on the location
Australia has no restrictions for importing and/or purchasing lasers but those SELLING pointers here are subject the the Pointer regulated strength of <1mW
Not sure of England but they export a lot of Laser Device/Modules to the rest of the world. Usually the output is much lower than those units from China.

Hope this helps. If I got anything wrong, please feel free to post a correction.

I have seen this a couple times on ebay and it is being sold from the same guy as this website is. Steve is the owner of wickedlasers and he post quite a few on ebay. The thing is like nero said in order to sell them on ebay you cannot classify them as "laser pointers" because ebay only allows sales of laser under 5mW which are typically your everyday red laser pointers. It is for that reason he says it is a laser module. i have never seen that laser it looks like its a shrunken laser and looks really small. would love if it really was this small; maybe wickedlasers has started building really small lasers Very Happy lol

ohhh wait. after looking at the pictures it seems as if he just seperated the laser so that it didnt look like a pointer; when indeed all it is is a pointer that is some what disasembled. Thats pretty tricky right there Very Happy gotta love people who dont know much; like the cops in my area. asked one of my buddy's who was a cop what he would do if he saw someone using a wickedlaser in public what he would do? and he said as long as the guy wasnt pointing at planes or people then he wouldnt do anything but ask about it and find out more about cause it amazes him. lol good times guys good times!
