| This is just to see if normal website visitors think the new design or the old design is better, any suggestions re: website design will be appreciated. |

The new website is definately better and more informative than the old one; it answered lots of questions users asked in the forum
The only minor errors I noticed are the specifications for the Advanced Series are out of date and there are no specifications for the Elite Series. Although most users will "know" the tech specs from the forum topics but for the sake of completeness I think it should be published on the website. _________________ laserguru

Very Good. I think the new look is well suited. Theme and colour is ideal. Has an invitingly modern and refreshing look overall. Forum is a great touch. Might help to remove destructive themed threads in case a reporter sneaks in and starts quoting comments that might affect community perceptions about highe powered lasers. Inclusion of safety glasses and subsequent discounts is a VERY nice touch and once again makes Wicked appear to be quite responsible and thoughtful. Theme: Feels a little "Matrix-like" without being so in any way (due to the colour alone) and of course the "green look" relates directly to the green lasers anyway. With all respect, I felt the old look was a little less professional. The Wicked image gallery is great but with a few images that feel are a little repetitive (ie. Same subjects and shots but from similar angles in many images etc). I'd be inclined to cull a couple of images that may look too identical to the picture beside it but the large number of images to choose from is very appealing for new visitors. You could keep them all in there though since they are very impressive to look at and encourage interest.
I was curious about the early Wicked website and had a good look at the time. I wanted to buy one (a Wicked laser) back then just to see what the products were like... but the only reason I didn't purchase at the time was that it had a sort of "student project" feel to it and I didn't feel as confident. The new product layout is quite descriptive and visually appealing. There's a sense in certain parts of the world to fear the sale of more powerful laser devices that look like pointers and I think that the BEST part of your entry portal is the 'Disclaimer/I Agree' page which makes people realise that you're taking a very responsible view to product use and abuse. Paypal's portal adds a legitimate feel to complete any website (including this one) since most purchasers are going to feel good about using a familliar, safe and simple method to purchase with.
I think this is one of the more visually impressive and appealing sites on the web. Definitely the best laser related site. |

Just to clarify Re: "destructive themed threads" -
Occasionally on other laser forums there's always a nutter who says he just wants to be able to do silly things with his laser and "burn lots of stuff". I think it's good to encourage questions that inform on safety issues without being 'alarmist'. But I'd be inclined to delete or modify posts that imply wanton distruction should they ever appear. It just doesn't do anyone any good overall IMO. _________________ Regards,
