Does anyone know anything about laser laws in the UK. Im very interested in purchasing a laser ( probably fusion ), as i previously had a bad quality 5Mw one, buts its made me want another. And wickedlasers seem to be very good.
I'm guessing they are probably not legal, its all or nothing. Either it'll be only legal for like 2Mw or it will be legal for a full 125Mw. I would like a link or something if possible, because i dont wanna get in trouble or nothing
thanks in advance. |

Not sure what your rules are in the UK but all the "pointers" I see there are no more than 1mW. It's possible that your laws are similar to Australia where it's illegal to sell Class 3B lasers (over 5mW) but it's quite acceptable to import them for your own uses. Might help to contact your local Customs UK and explain that you want one for "holography" or "photographic use" and ask them what the rules are. Most times they won't have a clue about what it is you want or want to do. It's quite possible that the laws in the UK only affect internal sales and not imports. _________________ Regards,

| I'm pretty sure here in England we can't "flaunt" a >1mw unit, i.e point it outside of our own place without a permit. |

Hi there, pronoob,
I'm not sure about the laws myself, but i should be receiving my one sometime next week. so i'll let you know if it gets thru or not, but i know for a fact that there is another user on this forum who has a 95MW laser who is in london, so hopefully we shouldn't have probs getting it in the country.
as for using the laser, that's a different story. _________________ -Impyboy |
