Does anyone know why they went with the Army dudes? Is it to show new people these lasers arent for everyone? Or something to that nature?

I'm assuming its to make them look tough. Mainstream American guys think the army is tough and cool. Relate something to it and bang, more sales. Doesn't really help the geek crowd at all though does it? :/

Most of the nerdy guys in the Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanincal Engineering departments here at school are really into the whole millitary tech stuff (Think Counter Strike), so I think it works out perfectly.
