Yep got me a 10mW from WL hope to have it sometime this week. Its funny how you find things sometimes, I happend to be looking at stuff from thinkgeek.com and saw they had a green laser for sale. So I read the description and was like that sounds cool so I did alittle looking around and found you guys. I really like the fact this place has forums and someone that actually represents the company is on them, plus all the positive feedback I definatley had to order from here. Once I get a chance to use the 10mW I'll see if i need to get a higher power Twisted Evil.

Also could anyone venture a guess as to what power these lasers might be?

Not sure if that's a laser they're using. With that night vision/ night framing thing they have, any light source shows as bright green. To me, those 2 seperate beams looked like high powered flashlights, probably Surefire. But then again, what do I know... Smile Just a guess and most likely a wrong one. Smile

EDIT: Forgot to say congrats on your order. You'll love your wicked laser. Very Happy

Hi! I too bought my first portable green lasers from Thinkgeek although they have changed the currently available model to one which can only be modded by those with a LOT of technical knowledge about low-heat soldering and also capacitors and resistors. My lasers from ThinkGeek both suffered from power fluctuation issues which were not too noticable. Modding one destroyed it. Modding the other resulted in a very unstable laser. I'll only use OEM as a result.

The 10mW from Wicked is VERY bright by comparison. Be sure to write your opinions here when you get it! Don't forget to compare it with your <3mW (supposed to be <5mW!) from Think Geek!

Its definately a laser, they say IR laser, I would assume its an infrared laser. the light would be invisible or near invisible however the night vision does make it look almost exactly like a green laser, a powerful one.

Hey Voodoo, looks to me like the military's GDB designator unit....250mw max 120mw typical.....see it down here.

What the hell is this? Found it at bemeyers.com anyone ever see one of these? On their website this is listed as 250mw peak and 120mw typical, it uses 4 AA's. They call it an "Illuminator/Designator" They don't list a price. Military hardware I believe. Cheers Dale

Well it came a couple of hours ago I stopped by the house and picked it up. I had quite a scare though. I opened up the UPS package which looked quite worn out, then I opened the manufactures package which looked somewhat like it had been opened already, then I got to the box and that also seem like it had already been opened so I figured maybe customs did check it but no big deal because its already here. So I realize it doesn't come with batteries and I didn't have any fresh ones around so of coruse I steal some from a remote lying around the house Twisted Evil. I drop them in screw the top back on and press the button and nothing.....So I figure I put them in backwords so I reverse them and still I get nothing, so I try another set out of a diffrent remote and still no dice, at this point im like ok its DOA good thing they have a 2 year warranty. Well I find some more used AAA and I'm like ok if these don't work off to the store to get some fresh ones. I drop them in and push the button (im outside at this point in my garage) and im amazed at how bright this fricken thing is and really releaved it works !!! It doesn't hurt to look at the spot but its not comfortable I really didn't get the idea these things are so bright and this is just a 10mW, now I see why you need the saftey goggles for 50mW+ lasers. My cats go nuts over it ha ha im really going have fun with this thing, but of course I'll be responsible too Smile.

Hmmmmmmmmm, If I had to guess, I would guess that is a 200 to 250 mW infrared spotting laser...

The laser in that video is most likely an IR laser used for designating targets. The reason it appears green is that the video is shot through a night vision

camera with an IR illuminator.

They show the same video at bemeyers.com and according to them it's their GBDIII laser/designator I pointed to above. The video IS filmed thru N/V giving the beam that brilliant effect. Any one of our wicked lasers would look the same thru N/V goggles. Cheers Dale

The laser is definitely an IR laser. Note also the IR beacons on the backs of the Soldier's head. The video was shot from behind a tank turret. I'd put the laser power between 100mW & 200mW. The Nexus would look much the same through the IR camera.

Perhaps.......bemeyers shows these types of videos and then references to their GBD unit to make it look more appealing? Damn cool video just the same! Cheers Dale

Wait....an infrared beacon on the back of a soldiers helmut? Shocked That's a brilliant idea....like a great big "Shoot Me Here" sign, Confused .... dumbass military logic....."We put this beacon on your head so WE know your with US!" I was in the military 20 years ago Mad ........."Same as it ever was" Mad ......."Same as it ever was" Mad Mad

I met my ex during the previous Gulf War. She was a troop transporter. Those IR 'friendly-illuminator' lamps flashing on the vehicles and helmets would certainly give away a position... I mean, how hard can it be for the enemy to get their hands on some IR scopes?

The IR lamps were introduced again after the Canadians were firebombed by mistake. Note that the mistake was from the US operations side and not the poor Canadians who were supposed to be where they were at the time.
