A Wicked <30mW OEM laser (on the left) compared to a <43mW 'modded' Leadlight (on the right). The leadlight is VERY unstable. Though the beam appears narrower near the aperture, the Wicked laser retains a tighter beam over longer distances. The leadlight beam, typical of many modded laser units, will fluctuate between 1mW and 43mW untill it warms up. These pictures were taken at peak output.
Same two lasers with the camera facing the opposite direction. Now the Wicked <30mW in on the Right hand side of each image. The Leadlight is on the left from this view (in both images). Dot appears to be the same size and brightness in both images.
