Yttrium Aluminum Garnet. Nd:YAG are about the most common pumped solid state lasers. Normally they're used to get 808nm to 1064nm like Nd:YVO4 as RR mentioned, and then KTP could be used to bring that to 532nm green.

Thanks Pseudo...
Whenever I see YAG and try to remember the name, I get a mental block with 'Gallium Arsenide'... I know... Totally different substances... But that name sticks in the head and I can't remember the 'Garnet' bit.....
And the Nd, stands for neodynium, if I'm not mistaken.

Hi,

I've not heard anything bad about him, and I have purchased from him in the resent past. There are other people out there with the SSY-1 pulsed YAG lasers, Search on SSY-1 and you'll find them.

Expect to pay about 100 dollars and USE GOGGLES. The pulses from this laser will be very short and very strong, one accidental reflection into your eye, and you'll be going Aghrrr Matie before you can blink.

chad942 also has a few of these, and I think it is a more complete unit complete with Q-switch.

Have fun, and wear goggles.

Yep, it sounds like people can get good deals from him. I'd like to reitorate that everyone should use EXTREME CAUTION buying from him though. The higher end stuff he sells seems to be a bit hyped up, and not accurately described.

I personally won some low-dollar items from him. I've sent him simple questions about the items via multiple methods of communication. I have yet to receive a response after wll over a month, but he took the liberty of not only filing an unpaid item dispute against me, but he also took it all the way and filed and unpaid item strike against my account (my only one). I will probably dispute this if I ever have the time.

He seems to have been known to sell broken lasers in the past also.

On a more interesting note:

So a "Chris D. Leubner from Waukesha" got hauled away by a tactical team for throwing acid at cops inspecting his ecstacy lab? Well, isn't that a nice coincidence. Filing a user info request with eBay on heruusciences gives me:

User ID: heruursciences
Name: Christopher D Leubner
Company:
City: Waukesha
State: WI
Country: United States
Phone: (262) 250-8468
Registered Since: Thursday, Feb 03, 2000 08:33:17 PST

I wonder how many Christopher D Leubners there are in Waukesha?

Well,

I've not bought from CHAD942 before though all the feedback I've heard regarding his SSY-1s has been positive. I have heard other complaints about him regarding other products though.

As for Heruurscience/Leubner, I have bought from him in the past, though nothing of any high value. I will say this sounds like the same guy though, and having my name associated with somebody into that kind of activity is NOT COOL.

Throwing Acid on the cops after they are wondering around your lab.... That just pisses them off, not bright. Would have been better off throwing the Ecstasy on them.

Have a good one.

What scares me is the ammount of $$ you have spent for your extensive laser collection! I would like to see a list of what you have. Is your site down? WAY COOL!
