You can take it out but it a bit more difficult. The only new pulsar I've dismantled had the diode soldered onto the board instead of in a little holder like the old ones so you'd have to remove that to get it off the board.

the diode head is already seperated from the board and the pins are snaped that connected it to the board. i removed the lens and all i have now is the diode in this little head thing and i don't know how to take it out

I think there press-fit into the heatsink. only way would be to try and gentlly hammer it out from the inside where the lens is, though the risk of damage will be great, as I took an axixz module apart this way and the diode did not survive. Though that's how the diode is mounted in the older black w/ clip case not sure if there still using the same basic design for the newer models.

For stuck pressfit diodes I've used a dremel before to carefully cut away the outer shell. You have to be very careful to not cut into the diode, keep it from getting too hot when cutting, and keep the optics and circuitry free of metal dust, and even then the vibrations may cause problems so it's not easy by any matter, but it works for me.

If you are just looking to remove the diode ( like broken legs and you are going to replace) then just get a small drill bit and put a TINY hole in the back of the diode and then use a small screw and screw it in until it gets snug and slowly try to pull it out. repeat as necessary.

I wouldn't do that, if I were you. It will void your warranty if there is any left.
