Hello everyone. First post here.

I am working on a project that requires the thinnest possible laser line of about 10-30mw (not sure on power yet). So far I have tried a 10mw green with a cylindrical lens, and a 10mw red with a fresnel type lens. I've also tried a 5mw with a polygon scanner. I have yet to try a galvo driven setup yet, but wanted to throw out a question to those with the most experience.

To explain why, I'm basically using this in conjunction with a machine vision camera for planar measurements. With the thinnest line possible, it prevents bleeds into other pixels, which makes my programming algorithms easier to code.

So would a galvo setup be better?? What would your guys' recommendations be on the best way to produce a laser line with the most consistent, yet thinnest laser line?

Thanks, and I really enjoy reading this forum.

Best regards,

Dan

I'd say a high quality Galvo would be your best bet......just my 2cents Rolling Eyes

So where is a good source for glavos other than Ebay?

Thanks for the response,

Dan
