I think you should have bought a techlasers infiniti... they have a lower price/mW.
the 15 mW laser you will get, with caps set, will be able to smoke dark plastic or leather.
Maybe you can light black tipped matches but I think it should be a bit overpowered to do this.
You will be able to point at stars and things very far away. Green Lasers are great _________________ green 3~8mw ebay laser
green 50mw ebay laser (mounted on telescope)
homemade DVD-Burner Laser (~120mW, divergence: 0.05 !)
RGY laserscanner (130mW red 60mW green)
300mW green Laser module from ebay
money spent on lasers: ~1800 $ (some are broken...) |

yes, lasershades are a MUST HAVE! You only get 1 set of eyes and it's smart to protect them. Didn't you read the thing on the Russian rave? I mean, those guys are never going to get their vision back. You can't repair retina burns.
True, those infiniti lasers are pretty decently priced, but they just don't look as cool as the executives. Either way would have been a good choice.
ummm, the beam at night will travel farther than your eyes can see. During the day, you'll probably only see the dot at the end.
one thing I'm not too sure about, will the 15mW with capset burn anything? I would think you need a 35 or 55mW laser. Maybe you can tell us when you get your laser... |

Suprisingly, it can take a long time to get bored of lasers....
I reccommend you go to http://www.wickedlasers.com/ and scroll to the bottom. You will see a chart. It has a pretty good representation of what different powered lasers can do. But, it is a bit of an understatement. And WL lasers are often overpowered too. |

i know im new here but my old WL advanced 55mw couldnt light a match even with a focusing lens. it could pop a balloon very close without lens, but matchsticks wouldnt light.
unfortunately, your 15mw wont be burning any matchsticks of any kind.
you may be able to burn black trash bags using a lens or try popping a balloon.
from my personal experience i would say you need atleast 60-80mw of green laser light to be focused to light a match.
sorry for putting you on a downer and im sorry if i did, if you want power to be able to light a match you should send your laser back and get a higher powered. though 15mw will be great for starpointing. |

ortho, you are not completely correct. My 15 mW lit matches, and there is a chance his will too, although it is not gauranteed. You can always hope for the best |

It's your matches! When I got my pulsar I was like : "W00000T! I GOTZ MY PULSAR!!!!11!one1 IMMA GON LIGHGGTT A MATCH!!! LULZZ! *shines focused laser at black match head* W T F! IT TAKEZ LIKE 30 SECONS TO LIGHT!" The next day I tried lighting a match with with a new match... *shines focused laser at black match head again* "YAY instant match light!" *fixes bad grammar* So, try a new type of matches! My friend's 55mw can light matches... I think your laser is underpowered _________________ resistance is futile (if <1 ohm)
