Hi,
Is it possible to lower the beam diameter? because my laser module (532nm, 300mw) has a beam diameter of ~3 mm at aperture and a divergence of about 2-3 mRad... bad beam specs... it can't even light a unaided match unfocused. It is powerfull because compared to my fusion it is much brighter. But the beam is too thick, is it possible to lower the diameter? If yes, how do I do it?
Here a picture, Fusion vs. laser module:

| If you get a beam expander and put in reverse in your beam, it should become much thinner. 2~3 mrad is a bit much, is the module properly focussed at infinity? |

from ebay ^^
it has an IR filter, and it's much stronger than my fusion, the only bad thing is the divergence and the beam diameter _________________ green 3~8mw ebay laser

This is typical for a high powered lab laser... one thing you can do is to use a convex lens to focus the beam then, right before the focal length, put a concave lens to expand the shrinking laser beam. (It's called a collimator) And you get a collimated laser beam, but the real challenge is putting the lenses in the right place _________________ resistance is futile (if <1 ohm)

Yeah thats what im trying at the moment? Just dont know were to get a concave lens. im still a bit confused on how to make it. It is on the project section |
