You have the options laid out infront of you. Rumor has it the III will have 400mw output. Unfortunately, we haven't been granted full info on this new laser yet. Price, exact mW, beam properties, case design, etc. The lack of information really prevents making a decision at this point.
The GX II series is currently on sale, and has been for quite some time. Perhaps they're trying to offload them to pave the way for the new ones. If so, catching the savings on the GX II might be a good idea to help afford it.
Keep in mind, the GX II isn't going to be obsolete crap as soon as the III hits the market. It's still going to be a great high powered laser with amazing beam specs.
Personally, I've considered this myself. I'll probably either wait to at least have the opportunity to compare the two before committing myself to choose one, or take the money as a down payment for a new car.
