Its official.
You have until July 1st (26 days from this post) to import anything over 1 miliiwatt.
So if you were looking at an Elite Laser 150 and never really bothered to save up, its now or never.

Would that be possible? I dont even live in AU so I wouldnt know and be able to...
Just buy some and sell them to friends or so...

Not only have I got a 300mW greenie incoming. But I have a 300mW red, a 400mW green and several 70mW blu-rays. And this isn't counting the lasers I already have
Once the demand goes up, I'm selling these for a premium (except for the 400mW green, I'm keeping that one ). I reckon at least $1000-2000 worth of pure profit isn't out of the question.

Dont they fcking get it! 
They dont know 'N3ROWN3D!' about lasers! They say that the lasers have a potential to BLIND pilots!
Well, they can flash pilots, but at that distance, no lasers have a so low divergence, (I think? )
And they think that because Murudai says that hes getting a 300mW laser, doesnt mean he will shine it on planes and cause trouble xD

I'm bailing on my little scheme to sell a few lasers after the ban and cutting my losses.
I'm a legitimate user, but doing that selling isn't particularly legitimate. Since Australia is getting a little too serious for my liking, I'd rather stay on the right side of the law rather than trying to duck under and push it. |

| That article is stupid on so many levels. I like how they post a picture of a crappy ebayser and claim it's an elite 150. The 5mw to 200mw MONSTER part was also good for a laugh. The rest including the part where they call laserists terrorists is just plain sad. |

Look who that Byron Kaye works for..............That's right, The Daily Telegraph. They did the same thing a few years back over Counter Strike being the cause of a bunch of robberies.
Byron Kaye, how about becoming a real journalist and start reporting "true facts" in an unbiased manner. How about signing up to these forums and discuss sensably and reasonably with us these issues.

Yeah, like my pointer could become that with the help of a screwdriver. And they still don't ban DVD burners...
Low power laser pointer can't be tweaked up to 40x their power. Anything that lases has to be replaced to do that. Which essentially is just giving a powerful laser a new home. But the newpapers are way too stupid and/or arrogant to admit that. |
