I recently bought a 55mW flashlight- its really bright but, the beam diameter/divergence is that of.... a flashlight....
Is there any mirror set I can rig up, or do anything to at least get a focused point on it at some distance? I don't mean giving it a beam, just a reversed divergence (invergence?) so that somewhere, a point of concentrated light would exist (that would hopefully burn something. ) |

Hi YATHERN!, I know that you can get collimating lenses from Edmund Scientific, but they are quite pricey! If interested in other info. PM me and I shall enlighten you!! _________________

is it just me, am i confused. Because the title says 55mW flashlight. 55 mW as in milliwatt. For a flashlight thats tiny! Isnt the torch like 100 Watts as in 100,000mW?
Or have i got the wrong end of the stick?
I cant wait for the torch reviews, i check every day as soon as the start to confirm that they are that powerfull im having one
Back to this thread, I guess we are trying to merge the gap between lasers and flashlights. Like mega powerfull torches with 1/2 a foot beam diameter.
As vic said it wont be collimated. But there will be ways of making it a burning tool. There always is _________________ Thanks,

| A camera lens could focus the beam well enough. Lookout for such at flea markets and practically junked cams |
