The pic with all the lasers together is the best. It's cool to see a really good comparison like that.

Nero: You said that the BX would be good for star pointing. Did you try it for that, and do have any pics showing it compared to a 125mW greenie or even the GX? I plan on buy a BX for star pointing as soon as they are available again.

It is, the Spyder II BX will be bright enough for starpointing, while not being extremely bright that the beam outshines the stars. Of course, if you don't care about the laser color, I'd suggest you to get a Core or a Classic instead, since they are cheaper.

In my opinion, any green laser over 35mW is way too bright for starpointing.

King K:

I've found that the 125mW is good in some of the areas where my astronomy club has public star gazing nights, as they are in city areas (or edge of cities) and there is quite a bit of light pollution. At our club's dark sky site the 125mW can be too much, which is why I will be getting the BX. Though I also think that the blue will look really cool, and not overdo it as far as brightness. In addition, since we get a lot of dew and humidity during parts of the year, the "waterproof" BX will be a bit safer to use then a greenie. After getting the BX I'll have enough WB's to get a lesser powered exec as a backup.

The Blue (when used for star pointing)n appears as a grey-blue beam... almost white but with a blue tint in it. Any atmosphere makes the blue beam quite vividly blue.

Most greenies will offer a stronger and more clearly defined beam by comparison simply because 532nm is going to appear stronger to the eye by default..

The Reds and Sonar are the least suitable for starpointing.

Was planning on taking some pics this weekend as I had promised WL to produce more pics before I attend my next convention.

Great photo of all the lasers together. I wish WickedLasers would have all the models in each category photographed together so you could more easily decide which wattage to buy.....75mW, 95mW, 125mW
