| Why don't they use a laser beam gun. I think now the tecnlology allows them to do that. |

wait till cold fusion is possible before even thinking about a laser gun that "burns through anything" appears! hehe
too much heat is generated with the huge amounts of current needed for those lasers!!! |

Lasers are going to reach their limit for handheld/portable just because for stronger beams you need more power, as for devices that will be hooked up to a powersource that will group, it is basically if you have the money for the finest materials to build the laser, if you do, you get a superior laser, if not, you dont' get no laser . |

Most lasers used by the military are for painting targets for laser-guided missiles.
The missiles are programmed to be drawn to the 532nm dot painted on the target. To be honest, a good exampleof this would be in that huge fight sequence at the end of Transformers. |
