Hey Everyone,
I'm building a homemade DVD burner laser and I need some goggle to protect against the 650nm wavelength. Does anyone have an extra pair of goggles or something that they don't need anymore? Of course I'll pay for them... it's just that I don't want to pay about 50% of the price of the item for shipping direct from WL
Thanks! _________________

Thanks, but I PMed him, and he said they were gone
If not, are there any US distributor for the red laser goggles? Or maybe some other goggles that are the same price (or lower ) that protect against 650nm and are sold in the US (or at least have cheaper shipping....)
Thanks! _________________

| Use the blue side of 3d glasses. maybe put the blue form 2 of them into the red side of one pair. They cant be that expensive. |

Your video store may have some... I got 9 pair or so over the course of a few months for 3d movies I rented for the kids.
Good idea, tho.. .I'll try that myself

Umm... I wouldn't recommend that
Seriously, do not do it. Even if the sharpie covered evenly, the laser could possibly burn through it almost instantly... depending on the power. |

| at even 100mw of 650nm that would result in instant blindness. |

Your looking for trouble if you use home made safety glasses, don't try it. Be safe and get proper glasses.
Wicked accually sells good cheap glasses that work. I am getting one for red lasers and one for green lasers.
Get ones you know are safe. You only have one pair of eyes, and homemade ones will give you false security. Not worth it, and a foolish thing to do. |

| as mentioned above, your sight is too important. you can pay whatever it takes for whatever laser you want but you cant buy your sight back once its gone. |
