I am sorry if this is an already discussed thing, but at least with a quick search I didin't find an answer to my question.
I got a Pulsar 125 couple days ago, but the thing is that when I point it on the wall for example, I see the bright point of course, but also a dim "halo" around it. The halo only goes around like half way. When I bring the laser closer to the wall this effect is seen even more clear.
I suspect this is not how it should be, but is there anything I could do to fix that? |

Do you think you can take it on photo? So it'll be easier to determine what it could be.
What you can do right now is trying to clean the lens, but do it very carefully as those lenses are very fragile and become easily scratched. If you're lucky, it is only a dust particle or fiber that is stuck on the lens. Don't apply any force while trying to clean it, if there is any dust it might scratch the lens. Use a dry and clean Q-tip and don't reuse it.
But I must add that I also got some little artefacts in my unit also, But it is only visible on very short distance at around 1-2 meters and only in darkness. I guess in my unit it might be some dust particles that seem to be behind the lens... Maybe i'll try to clean it.... someday. Right now it's not too bad as I might damage anything while trying to solve that relatively little problem.
If your Pulsar is brand new you might also contact WL and ask for repair or exchange. |

do not use a q-tip!!! u will scratch the lens... use nothing other than a micro fiber cloth.... search halo effect or halo in the search bar and u will find a few threads on this issue... i believe it could be the beam is hitting part of the inside of the aperture causing this...
if u plan on cleaning ur lens always read the lens cleaning thread in the safety section!! _________________

| I'm sorry to hear Q-tip might scratch the lens. Of course I didn't want to give him the wrong advises. I heard many times here in the forum that users recommend dry q-tips. Of course you might scratch the lens if you apply any pressure while cleaning. I use them to take away dust fibers and things like that... no scratche so far in my pulsars. |

Well, this fine policy of WL groups didn't allow me to include a photo, or even enter a link to one. So whatever.
