Then wouldn't the MTHEL be more of a particle beam weapon than a laser weapon? |
No. It emits photons. |
Photons are particles! (acctually this is an old quantum theory argument, particle vs wave, dep on which camp you ask, it may or may not be a particle beam, toMAYto, toMAHto)
Genenally in chemical lasers, electricity stimulates the reaction to produce the beam, and more electricity, the more power (in theory, of course) But this is possible, I've read online how to build a home-brew nuclear reactor (NOT RECOMENDED!!!!) which would probably easily power it if you scale the reactor up enough.
Also, Invisible is cheeper than visible. I've seen prices just of the cheep diodes we play with (<200mw) and a red can run as much as 300+ dollars for a 200mw, while a 1watt (yes, 1 watt, 1000mw) IR can be as little as $50, and this includes a heatsync. I can buy a used CO2 laser, which emits IR @ 10watt for less than I an buy 1watt of red diodes. Often this price includes the pwoer supply as well. |

| Alright then, smartass. Would Wicked be considered a distributor of PARTICLE BEAM pointers, or LASER pointers? |

wow, didn't know this actually existed.
and if anyone is complaining that they should just coat their missles with reflective coating, there's a way around that. i don't know if it's supposed to be secret or not, but i can give a clue.
theres a limit to how fast you can send data wirelessly |

It's classified information. But these chemical lasers (this and the ABL) are all in the megawatt range - at least 1 million watts CW. _________________ Lasers are like potato chips - you can't have just one!
Nexus 95mw, Confirmed 173 mw Pulsar, , 131mw argon-ion laser, Core laser, and Signature Fusion 125mw, 100mw blue - average output 131mw - lab laser, and a 20 WATT (yeah you read that right!) CO2 laser!:
