question
I have a laser "pointer". It's not a one dollar laser that runs on the little watch batteries. it had a little circuit board and runs on 2 AAAs.
I've seen the video of how to make a 5mw green laser strong enough to burn and was wondering if that was possible with my red one. |
These vids are scam. Don't believe it. He removed the IR filter so the output (total - IR + green) was 205mW. But 200mW was IR and invisible.
And it's not possible. Because that's probably a 5mW diode, you won't get anything more out of that. Maybe a microwatt, but it'll die very very fast. That's because the green works by overpowering the crystals, the red one doesn't have any crystals. |

Yes. And idiots like him trick people that IR isn't dangerous or that it can't hurt. Well it can hurt really really bad. First off, you can't even see the diffrence in dot brightness, which would be quite big if he lit a match.
I'd like to see that shootingeggs stand up to a industrial CO2 laser in his eyes. We'll see who's the sucker then! |

[/quote]Question - Can I see the beam?
Answer - Compare it to a 5mW Green, you can see the beam when youre directly looking at it,

Dont look directly at it!! who the heck would do that?

Question - Why 199.99$? a cheap red laser costs 5 bucks or less.
Answer - Check out the prices of a 650nm 100mW laser diode, the lowest price is on ebay where you can buy them for $155 plus shipping.

I baught a 200mw open can diode and built a laser twice as powerful as a pulsar for less than $80 bucks! what now?!?! |
