I recently purchased a Pulsar P100, thinking it was capable of lighting matches, popping balloons, etc.. Only to find out the Green laser is more ideal for this.. I've read numerous posts about "focusing" or modifying the Pulsar to do some of these tricks.. Milliondollar question is... Is there someone or someplace I can send my P100 to so the mod can be done, avoiding me having to do it myself?
Any help is appreciated. |

You don't need (you shouldn't) mod your Pulsar 100 just because it doesn't light matches, simply use a focusing lense, even a cheap magnifying glass works.
The good thing about Pulsars is that they have a great divergence and can pop balloons really far away. _________________ >>Click here to go to my laser userbars site!<<

I bought a Pulsar 125, but like yours mine is not capable of lighting matches without external lens. to be exactly: is not capable of burning anything without external lens.
So I adjusted the focus for various distances between 1 and 5 meters. And all of a sudden, it lit matches without lens over 2 meters.
But: With these settings the dot size on 10 meters is absolutely inacceptable. So after having tried various settings I adjusted it for infinite focus, giving me smallest dot size possible over long distances. It's the best setting. When I want to burn things, I just use a magnifying glass. This might also be the best for you, cause you'll not be very satisfied with a huge dot on short distances, I guess. That would be the price for burning things up close without external lens... huge dot sizes.
What's the dot size of your unit on 10 meters? The inner bright center not the rings around Have you already tried burning things with a lens? |

| If you want I guess I could mod it for a nominal fee, and there are probably others here too who could do it. PM me if interested. |

the P125 comes stock with a 150mW sticker... some clock out at much over that... I think It really is the 150mW model, w/o the 150mW name... _________________

not really, the 150 models had crappy diodes... supplier fault. most never made it above 80mW....
now they're beautiful, and nicely collimated... not the same unaided burning power... but... _________________
