If anyone is interested, I'm selling my practically brand new pulsar 125 with wicked caps set and dragon case to save up for the spyder bx. I used the cap set twice to feel the amazing burning power, and the laser and dragon case for only 3 days. It is in perfect condition and comes with the box with case, laser shades, warranty, instruction manual, dragon case, wicked cap set, and pulsar. PM me if you're interested.

my p100 can do that with the cap set but is it worth it to get the p125 and how mucch will it cost to get it upgrated?

I am so tempted to pick up a Pulsar. But does anyone else get the feeling that after seeing a modified $40 DVD burner diode produce more than 2X the output of the Pulsar, that this is a bit overpriced?
If a commodity product like a cheap DVD burner can produce 200 - 300 mW, then why is a 125 mW Pulsar so extrodinary?
If anyone can provide a solid technical explanation, I am all ears. Nothing against the Pulsar, it looks sweet and I want one, but why the higher price for the lower power?

I am not sure if Wicked Lasers can still upgrade your lasers for a fee, but the Pulsar 100 usually has an average output power of 120mW, while the Pulsar 125 usually has an average output power of 160mW-180mW.

It's a huge difference if you ask me, I think I'm gonna get the Pulsar 125 and use a toothpaste cap with a double-convex lense from a Classic as a cheap homemade Wicked Cap (it works!), until I buy real Wicked Caps.

DVD burners generally have ~80-100mW laser diodes. Some as high as ~150mW, but I've never seen any that were 200-300mW other then a pulsed diode and a 150mW CW diode being over driven.
