picture this as you read.

a tube with a screw in it. the screw is hollow, light can pass through the screw. the screw is glued in place inside the tube, cant focus. the cap over this is exposed, the screw in the tube is not. you glue the screw to the cap, and you can then move the screw in and out. move the screw in, the light focuses farther, and vice versa.. understand?

ps. I widned my rear inside aperture and i got a boost of power, but I also scratched the lens. Does anybody know the thread size of the inner focus? I want to change it with something more durable than black plastic, and if anybody could direct me to a nice AR lens for the pulsar, that would be fantastic. my goal is to glue it inside the focus, and be able to focus to wherever, with a much more durable setup.

I think so, your telling me I would have to glue something, to the top of the screw thingy to make that something able to pull in and out?

Also, if i was to do this, would I have to remove the lens top? Or is it done in the battery compartment, without completely dismantling the Pulsar?

And if this focus thing focuses..then wouldn't that enable it so some wouldn't have to make the aperture cap wider since you could just focus the beam to fit through it?

the beam is initally too large to fit through the aperture cap. also, you wouldnt get full power at far distances due to the restricted light passage.

i think you have it right. if all you want to do is focus it, you just have to widen the aperture, clean the focus lens a bit, glue it to the aperture cap, file down the grip bumps on the aperture, and screw it back in. After reading this thread, i found it better if I removed the back restricting aperture, right infront of the diode. that lets it so all of the diodes light(For the most part) is passing through the lens, instead of bouncing off and hitting the focus lens holder/internal aperture.

Ya know if you guys gots the money to buy lasers then maybe you all gots the money to have new accessory parts machined for your lasers. Look in the yellow pages of your phone book for machine shops.

this is brilliant, but it would be evn more so with more diagrams. So basically, you pop off the end with the hole, sand the ring, sick it back, and you're done? why do younee the washer? shouldn't ring 3 fit with the rest ok without it?

If anyone's looking for a cheap focusing lens, you can find one in a disposable camera that is almost exactly the diameter of the pulsar.

They usually have a focal length of ~1.5 inches and are made of plastic, but do the job pretty well.

holy crap. i'm getting mine tested by pseudonomen137 to see if i'm getting anywhere near 150mw(which i doubt because i'm having trouble cutting electrical tape and never lit a match yet)

so, you took off the end cap, shoved a little foil in between the diode and case.
then you twisted the lense somehow to focus it?

Yeah the diode housing has a black threadded lens mount that can be rotated to focus the laser. It is slottted for a screw driver, a wide one at that and can be accessed by removing the end cap. Just rotated it slightly to adjust focus.

you're ripped. lol Very Happy

you should make a descriptive video showing the stuff you need and how to do it ... that would be wicked!
