My Fusion shooting 25 feet on flat black paper yields about a 3/4" spot. This was with plain Duracell Alkaline batteries. Is this decent? What is optimum? Can this be adjusted without adding an external colminator?

Any insight appreciated.

The sounds about right. My old nexus laser was about that size at 25 feet.
