Firstly you should go read through the How to make a blueray laser thread. You're questions may be answered in there.
Secondly it's blu-ray (no 'e'). It's more of a violet coloured laser than blue. |

i think everybody and their brother knows its violet by now 
but ive heard that the blu-ray diodes are very fragile, so it might be a challenge, but i want to make one too  |
