Completely focusable, clocked in at 180mw - here's a pic (and a short vid !)

I see both your and andy_cons one have the module sticking out the front and turning the collimator directly adjusts the focus. I was wondering if that was because the internal module was longer or what? I have to admit I really like the design of the modded pulsar where you can have a single-solid unit with the actual aperture cap turning to adjust the focus.

Nonetheless, great/interesting job. Is that a WL or did you use one of your own diodes for that (which one)? Also what wavelength were you measuring at to get that power reading?

I also focus-modded mine, and yes, the module tends to stick out of the case a little bit, causing some problems with the button not responding, the problem is that the module is a bit too small for the case, so the batteries push the whole module out, the press-fitted aperture cap is the only thing that keeps the module from sticking out, but since it is taken off, there's nothing to keep the module from sticking out.

What can be done to solve this is to add aluminum foil to the module, but I found this to be quite difficult.

By the way, what did you use to glue the lens with the aperture cap? The glue I used is too weak and separates from the aperture cap easily.

I just use epoxy resin. Works well for me and has sucessfully got me through pulsar mods on both the old and new silver versions as well as the black.

It's an actual Chrome P100 (new style) with a Rohm diode measured at 660nm. I used Energizer e2 rechargeable NiMh 900Mah batts. I used a leg off of the diode (I clipped the photo-diode pin) and used that to "wedge" the module in place. So - if it ever needs to be repaired again, a LOT of wiggling later, and it'll be good to go ! I enlarged the aperature on reverse side of the lense - to allow more light through Smile

I COULD have pushed the module in a little bit further, and glued the aperature cap, but then the housing would have been MUCH more difficult, if not damned near impossible to remove in the future.

I actually found that Wicked uses ALMOST the exact same diode housing - theirs is a little bit thicker. And since I used the Rohm diodes, that are case negative - you have to put the batts in backwards. The button was the trickiest part, as the "stock" button had to be replaced (the electronic one) with another, since it was almost all the way busted as well. Pretty nice work on this one - my previous attempt I left the back part of the housing attached - and it looks like CRAP if I may say so myself ! I am going to dismantle that one, and re-work it. That is the "old" style Pulsar 150, and I have no exterior button to use with it, so I may end up with some tape over the button hole, with a small piece of plastic under it so operate the switch. With that one, I had to do everything from scratch - and I, uh....epoxied the board into place, so there is NO re-working that one without a sledge !

Thanks, Psuedo I appreciate the compliments - high praise coming from you ! Cool By the way - I did this repair for "Rubberband" he will be HAPPY to get his baby back ! Next project....tackling the dead Glowtorches that Milos sent me ! Muahahahahaha !

Those modded Pulsars are a lot of fun, aren't they? I have one that's been modded (but with the end cap and original lense that turns to focus) and it never ceases to amaze me!

You should try smoking black plastic from 4-5 feet away - a laser of that power and focus should do so quite easily.
