I was doing some random surfing late last night (well early this morning) and i found a link to this sight on www.mvktech.net. I was amazed that you could actually buy lasers of this power and instantly i wanted to get one. Looking at the proffesional appearence of the lasers and looking at every post in the forums i decided that Wicked Lasers was just about to get another customer
I knew i wanted a powerful one, so to help me decide which laser to get i divided the power of each by the cost and decided to get the Pheonix (being 0.25mW per dollar)
Why am i saying all this? I dont know - im just a tad excited by the prospect of owning such a fine laser!
Im a university student from the UK and cant wait to shine the laser in all my mates eyes!
I am OF COURSE joking and have read ALL the safety information asscosiated with these lasers.

Thanks for the business James, but one thing you can't joke around about here is blinding all your mates. Because you'll goto jail and not your only mate there will be named Bubba.

Nexus! The 95mw Nexus is the best bang for the buck...plus...if you use MVTECH's wicked code you will get 10% off the Nexus bringing it's price real close to the Pheonix!! I was in your shoes too....went for the Nexus, glad I did! Truely a "Wicked" laser indeed! Cheers Dale Oh Ya....Bubba don't like lasers! _________________ Best Regards Chargerman

NEXUS: That was the funniest reply I've seen here this week! You are of course right about Bubba.
James: Yes, these things are certainly very cool. Think about what you might like to use your laser for and if you need to use it indoors near reflective surfaces or objects, consider a pair of the safety glasses if you don't already own a pair. There's a further discount on the glasses if you purchase any at the same time. If you're using the laser for outdoor use (starpointing etc), you really won't need the glasses of course.
Chargerman is right: The best value for dollar is the Nexus but even the lesser powered models are MUCH brighter than the usual <5mW green "pointers". I think the Nexus is the best choice for many because of the high output per $ compared to all the others out there. Very good choice if that's within your reach. Otherwise, anything over <25mW is ideal. Best thing about these lasers here at Wicked is that they are not Modded which means they are stable and not prone to beam power fluctuation. Every other laser supplier seems to offer 'modded' lasers, unlike Wicked which sell OEM (unmodified Original Electronics from Manifacturer). The difference is that your Wicked laser will last a lot longer (up to <5000 hours of use) if you don't abuse it. By comparison, a plasma television is rated at 14,000 hours lifetime operation. _________________ Regards,

I did use the MVTECH code and got 10% of the pheonix - 300 dollars seemed like a hell of a lot, but minus 10% and with the UK exchange rate, i payed just over 150 of my pounds
Besides this is my first green laser and my first laser over 1mW so i didnt really feel like wielding the chaotic forces of the nexus and possibly creating a new star! Id rather soar for miles blazing a green trail leaving everything scorched in my path - that sounds like fun
Its no nexus, but i still hear its quite a powerfull laser - and that story of the guy with the blood and goo filled eyeball after that laser accident really made me feel sick - im going to be sooo carefull!
Just one thing - Will the pheonix impress me (and others) who have never seen a green lazer in action before?
ourgh still thinking of that bloody goo filled eyeball |

I think you and your friends will be VERY impressed with the output power of the pheonix. Visibly, it's very close to the Nexus with the only noticable exception being the amount of heat present on the dot. Make sure you test it when the light gets lower (around Dusk) for maximum effect. In daylight, the dot will be VERY bright. Too bright to look at even.
Since this is your first green laser and the first one over 1mW that you have owned, you should dig out your old laser to do a comparison with. I think most of us did that when our green lasers first arrived.
Enjoy! _________________ Regards,

Dot in 'DAYLIGHT?!?!' really bright? cooooool! wow i must sound like an excited teenager! wait a sec... oh yea I AM
Would the dot be visible say, on the side of a shooping mall 200 feet down the road at midday? surely not... would it be too small to see?
Il try to dig out the 1mW but i think it broke! it only used those tiny watch batteries but hey i loved it at the time, filled my house with smoke from 'smoke spray' then had BB wars with our little lasers attatched to our 'guns' wow that was fun.
Anyway, cheers for the responses people i am new to this forum but already feel at home! |

Hey James,
You WILL be impressed......you will also be able to see the "Dot" from a long, long ways away in the daytime, especially if you hit a "Shaded" area with it. Don't expect the "Beam" to be totally visible out in the sun....it won't be. However...indoors,during the day, you will be able to see the beam faintly ( respectivly speaking...compared to darknees) but at night........Whoo Hoo! These Wicked Lasers do rock! Outside on a clear night the beam will be totally visible, and with a little fog, or inside with a bit of smoke....Holy crap, they look just like a light saber! Let us know your thoughts when you get it! Cheers Dale _________________ Best Regards Chargerman

From all the pics on the site and on nero_design's very nice site, im not expecting a beam during daylight, but am really eager to get it through the post!
Might be another little while though ordered it at two on monday morning. Its nice how delivery is garruenteed within 7 working days though, other 100 dollars back!(which i would probably spend on a laser anyhow) hehe.
please excuse my awful spelling |
