Oh, I just found it. There were two squares bonded togheter. I think KTP is the big one because it is less efficient than Nd:YVO4.

ND:YVO4 is what lases at 1064nm (and a couple other weaker lines) when pumped with 808nm radiation. KTP is only used to double the frequency from 1064nm to 532nm.

You will not get a high output from a crystal set if it was not designed for such a high powered pump. The Nd:YVO4 from a New-wish will likely give only marginally better output then from the pump diode it came with. It will just be oversaturated. Also keep in mind that the more powerful diode can damage the crystals causing a grey line to burn through the centre of the crystal. This is why the crystals used in higher powered lasers, Spyders, Hercs etc are thicker and more robust.

Oh, thanks Athoul, if you haven't told me this I would probably "melt" the crystal assembly.

Sorry for the bump, but I can't find a 2-5W TEC ANYWHERE. All I see are some 80W TECs which are waaaaay too powerful for it. .Any ideas?
And BTW I found a company where to get the optics and the driver, heatsinks aren't that difficult to make. MI. And I hope I didn't kill it already.

you'll probably have to get a larger TEC and undervolt it, or if you're really brave you can try cutting it into pieces and resoldering wires to the junctions

you could buy a spyder and rip the good TEC out of it and...

oh... Very Happy

hmm... found this on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.com/HIGH-POWER-532nm-PELTIER-COOLED-DPSS-CAVITY-808nm- green_W0QQitemZ180158918174QQihZ008QQcategoryZ26261QQssPageNameZWDVWQQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

just needs a diode...

hmm, but having an extremely hard time finding peltiers... ask WL, see where they get theirs...

That's an option.

I'll send them an email. But it'll probably cost like 100$ for it.
