I´ve just bought a laser diode (1000mw 808nm) on E-bay. I wonder what to do with it. If you have any ideas just tell me here or PM me.

Make your own DPSS unit? Or use it for burning,or sell it for a profit.

You COULD make a 200-300mW green laser system... BUT, it wouldn't be too bad to have a 1W IR laser system... that would kick butt! Very Happy

I'd probably be cheaper to buy a 300mW labby than make your own.

You'd still be a KTP crystal and cavity optics short of a 532nm laser. As said above, an assembled 300mW greenie would probably be a lot cheaper than the optics alone for making your own greenie, and at least then its not your fault if it doesn't work.

that pic is either a 9mm or a to56 ( 5.6mm ).

No, they will look like that one in the picture. You will be amazed at how small it is, you will NEED ESD protection.

Yeah, now I have the KTP crystal from the Newwish laser (it died last week), and I know I look stupid but I can't find the Nd:YVO4 crystal in there. The pictures:
