I found these diodes on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/500mw-808nm-Laser-Diode_W0QQitemZ130071300224QQihZ 003QQcategoryZ53141QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
My question is, Can I buy these and swap them into my Wicked 10mw 650nm diode module? Take out that red diode, stick in the IR, poof, 500mw laser?
I dont know what mA the driver on the module puts out, so im not sure if it can do the 650mA~ that the diode requires(as says the spec sheet) and the 2v it says it should be receiving.
In any event, I want to make an IR laser out of one of those diodes. The module and lens can house the diode, so I would just need a driverboard for it. If the one in the module wont work, could somebody link me to a cheap driverboard that will?
Ive got eye protection covered, as I plan to look at anything that I will be doing with the laser through my video camera or cell phone. Im going to cut a hole in cardboard to keep it from getting to my eyes through anything else than the camera.
If anybody can help me out, that'd be great! Thanks! _________________ Cant put the brand name for some dumb reason 532nm - 100-120mw
Nope! Cant post this one either 200mw 665nm - On the way!
Not even the name of the 5mw 532nm - On the way! (Planned for IR burner. Crystals to be removed)
Flashlights arent allowed either??! Flashlight - 2x CR123A
450w Some Brand Smoke Fogger
Orange Powerball(only thing allowed to have a brand name) 250Hz - Left Hand: 11318 || Right Hand: 12183 |

| You would need a different collimator. If you used the one from the 650nm laser, you might still be able to achieve collimation but the beam specs would be different and you'd have to reposition the lens. I think Wicked also sells near-IR modules, but I'm not sure what the price is on the weakest one. You might want to try starting with one of those first though. |

Ive used this one on the diode from my leadlight and it collimated fine. got it to a pin point from like.. 5ft away.
They sell a 150mw IR module for $52.. I'd rather just buy the diode and swap it in. They use the same collimator as their red laser modules also.. _________________ Cant put the brand name for some dumb reason 532nm - 100-120mw
