I just came from post office, put batteries(Ansmann rechas) in and turned it on. I amazed by its dimness. At all I dont believe its _again_ defective one, because _with_ magnifying lens I used with my greenies, it can get my black leather wallet smoking. But anyway its not much birghter than my 1mW's. I get some pics when I get my camera back..

Yeh, wait till you see it at night! And taking pictures really would be cool since there is almost NO pictures of the pulsar.

There's no way a 1mW would get a leather wallet to smoke, no matter how good a lens you used. |

not much brighter than a 1mw red or a 1mw green? Either way it should still be visually brighter.

Nice pics but BARELY se the red beam....Is that close to what you see when you use it in the dark?

Is the little arc and line to the left of your pulsar's dot in that picture just the camera or how it looks in real life? I had the exact same pattern next to my pulsars dot when i had it..

Yeh, I see that also,..
It looks like 100% Dust on the lens...At least my 35mW does this when there is dust on it, could be different with the reds, I dont know how they work!

The objective of the camera is full of scheisse, thats the problem. That sphere or whatever you can see around the dot, is barely visible to eye also, so its not fully fake of camera.
Its very hard to say is my pulsar outputting in spec because I dont know the "really powerful" reds to compare - greens I have, yes. At night the beam is not visible when looking at the side, but when almost behind the unit, then it can be seen.

if you can see the beam at all I would be pretty confident that it is in spec. My pulsar is in spec (laser check) and I have trouble seeing the beam at night anyway.

Yes.. I meaned that you have to look almost along the unit to see that beam. But if it smokes some leather, why it would not work in spec? Its about 15-20% of the brightness of greenie and they told green is about 5 times as visible as red.

DuckMan, have you looked in my gallery ?

Almost all the pictures in there includes a Pulsar. Do note that smoke was used to bring out the beams.
