it burns like a 180mW laser, a lot better than a fusion, a whole lot! i can acually set paper on fire, not just burn through it. it will glow red and eat away at teh paper for about a centimeter.

diffrent wavelengths might change power, but very very very little. 180mW is 180mW, be it green or red.

You mean 150mW? But yeah it will burn things just as well as a Fusion or better due to it being higher output.

Though technically I wonder..you see 532nm can be focused to a smaller point then 650nm. This means more energy/area. So the question is, when focused to the best they can be, does 150mW of 650nm burn better then 125mW of 532nm. If anyone feeling like learning something feel free to look it up. Wink

nope i mean 180mW, my pulsar outputs a steady 180mW.
the tiny diffrence in wavelength wont have that big of a diffrence i think.

Ah ok, but we can't base all the Pulsar on yours. We have to assume they will be 150mW, anything more is a bonus. Wink

You're right it won't make much of a difference. What I'm asking is what output of 650nm would equal the same energy/area as a 125mW 532nm laser both focused to as small a point as their wavelength will allow. Wink

Didn't realise you posted this twice, I tried to address it in the thread you made.

Well I was thinking about buying a Pulsar 150 but now I am having second thoughts. Do all of the new Pulsars have this problem?

Mine is flaky as hell, but then I expected that because I read the forums first. I purchased it just to modify it... now I just need to get some cajonees and do it... Shocked

Not ALL of the Pulsars are problematic.....as with any mass produced electronics, some get through that should not have. Smile

After mods they all seem fine, but the laser 4 pulsar 150s I've tested (one silver 3 black) did 100-130mW stable OEM, none more. I have two more black ones laying around somewhere that I haven't tested yet, so if they actually do 150mW, I'll post here. Either way though, after mods, all of the black ones seem to at least top 165-175mW, which is pretty nice IMO.

So what about the Pulsar 100? Would it also experience a low output without a mod? I would like a red laser to compliment my phoenix, but I don't want to get a pulsar if it is going to be problematic. I don't feel comfortable performing any kind of extensive modifications, although I would be ok with merely drilling out the aperture cap. Would this be sufficient, or would I just be wasting my time?

First I want to give thanks to tommygreen23 and everyone who had helpful contributions in this thread and forum. I followed instructions to the letter and with the help of the pictures to get a good visual, my 150P is now truely wicked. I was hesitant at first being that I just got this laser and I have zero experience with them. However, I am a battle hardend computer techie, so I thought what the hell. What is life with out a little risk. Well I'm glad I did, and I couldn't be more satified with it's performance. So thanx again everyone cause it wouldn't have happened without the information I gathered in this forum. You guys kick arse!!!

Forever impressed with the level of knowledge in this forum.
