Hello everybody.
I am new to this community.
I am searching for a laser capable of engraving. I am aware that CO2 lasers are used for that purpose but for now they are out of my wallets league.
What lasers can be used to engrave, if set up properly with the right optics and engrave at a fixed distance from the material. Like in a CNC table.
Thanks for your answers.

| I can't answer your question but it depends on the medium.. What are you planning to engrave? |

Oh, right.
Most likely wood.
Would you comment about different type of lasers for different engraving purposes?
Thanks.

808nm diodes are probably what you need, they can be up to tens of watts, and they are way the cheapest per watt, at least as far as I know. |
