Hi,
I currently pickedup a 200mW green motorhead laser (broken tho) from the club I work for. I've never seen it in use, they just had it and it looked like it had been smashed...
So I pluged it in, and the motorhead worked normally, except the laser itself was weird... instead of simply having a laser dot, I also get some diffraction aura around it... I've dismantled the whole thing and its not a XY scanner probrem neither a lens defect, its really the laser itself.
Sorry for crappy pick with my macbook photobooth, but do you have any idea of what might be cuasing this problem? thanks.
Pic is showing my arm pointing the laser itslef on the wall, unscrewed from the motorhead. The halo you see around the bright dot is actually visible, its not a camera exposure effect. (the white circles you see is my discoball...) |

| The same thing happened to me, I scratched the IR filter, so something should be in there that scratched it. You can't see it from the outside, you must disassemble the laser, but if you remove it, don't use the laser until you get a new IR filter. |
