this is why you need a labby - 100% duty cycle.
i left my WL core on for 6 minutes flat and it didnt seem to bother the laser. most pen lasers have a duty cycle so be careful.

Fans won't help. You should use a big heat sink which fits perfectly around the laser like someone on this forum(?) did a while ago.

Yes, you can also use a peltier, the downside is that this requires power to work (it won't be portable anymore).

But would I be able to take it out of the cooling thing and use it like I normally would?

No, I don\'t think so. For heat to actually transfer you need a tight fit (I\'m talking you need a vice or something) or sealed with some thermal epoxy (arctic silver ceramique...)
