I had the pleasure and honor to be a guest on CBC Canada radio this week, find the link (Part 3) here.

There's been a lot of talk about lasers and airplanes not only recently, but for the past few years.

This is very serious to us, and to the entire laser industry at a whole. That's why we are making a few changes starting now.

1) We no longer ship non compliant lasers to the US. If an order is placed for a non-compliant laser to a US address, we will either cancel the order or ship its compliant equivalent from the Pro Series.
2) Each warning label on each laser is marked with an aviation safety warning, including "Shining a laser at an aircraft is a felony".
3) We are offering a free MiniLock upgrade kit and free shipping for every user who wants the safety features the new models offer without having to buy anything new. This is an out of pocket cost for us, but its the responsible thing to do.
4) We are including an laser safety insert (one with each order) to further help provide information about the dangers of irresponsible laser use. The laser insert can be found here.
5) We are forming the first international organization for laser manufacturers and distributors so we can all be better represented at regulatory meetings. There are also standards for safety and compliance that every manufacturer and distributor should follow.
6) We are implementing the aviation warning onto our advertisements throughout the web. This has already come into effect for some sites.

We feel its about time that someone has stepped up to the plate and as the largest manufacturer of portable lasers, we owe it to the community to be the first.

We urge other laser manufacturers to start including warning labels and make their products compliant with the FDA and we will help anyone trying to do the right thing.
