Hi im new to this forum but i really want to know if i can use an aaa battery instead of 3 buton cells. I have one of those really crappy pens about 6cms long or so. Is there a way i can do this? thanks for ur time.

Well if it fits it will work. But it will be 1/3 as bright. The voltage of one AAA as well as almost all batteries bar 9 volt have a current of 1.2-1.8 V. More voltage means more output. One AA battery voltage at best is 1.8v(with lithiums) 3 button cells of worst quality would output around 3.6V . So best case scenario a AA would be half of the worst case scenario with button cells.
So basically your answer is no. Technically you could but shouldnt

You can use paper to insulate the internal area from the springs, and connect two wires, one of which goes to the spring and the other one to the internal surface like this :
