I was wondering, does this match the description of a 10mW CNI green?
I just got mine, and the beam is 50% visible in lit conditions. Sunlight, however, blocks most of it out. The laser dot's range is about 125 Feet in bright sunlight. At night the beam is CLEARLY visible.
When held close to a black credit card, it makes marks on it in about 15 seconds. No lens is being used.
Oddly enough, the warning label says: "Peak Output <500mW"
I know that's obviously not the steady output, but it is interesting. _________________

peak output means the maximum output of the diode. In green lasers there is a IR diode, the green light you get is ~10-20% of the IR... that means with 500mW max peak you could get a max peak output of ~50-100mW in green.
Thats maybe for a few milliseconds.
I think your laser is a bit overpowered, as it can make marks on a credit card. _________________ green 3~8mw ebay laser

I agree with CrazyKenny....if you paid for 10mw's and it will smoke anything...for that matter....it's well above the 10mw mark _________________ Best Regards Chargerman

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the fast replies. Looks like I got a pretty good laser. (not as good as a true Wicked Laser, but I'll live.) _________________

| I don't know CNI, but check for IR, which may just be the reason it seems powerfull. |

Yeah, I checked the IR, and I can't see any with a camera. I also looked down into the laser and I see an IR filter. They have that distinctive color that gives them away.
P.S. My laser has a safety system, so that's the only reason I was willing to check for the IR filter. Don't do that on ordinary lasers, as you might bump the button! _________________
