Hi,
Yeah, I'm a newbie, but I just ordered my 1st greenie - a <10mw from wickedlasers. I've read alot of posts and I'm impressed with the information & professionalism of this forum!
Anyway, I have a question - how important is it to have goggles with a <10mw greenie? Any information is appreciated!
Oh, also, what is the max time I should keep the laser on (again its a <10mw)? I have a <5mw red and I can keep it on as long as I like.
Oops - I guess that was two questions. ^_^

The goggles, you dont really need, but they will without a doubt help protect you if you are going to be looking at the dot for long periods of time, keep in mind, since its over 5mw, do not use in public as a pointing device, unless of course, you're in the UN doing a global peace conference, yeah you'll need the extra 5mW to make green seen! You can leave it on for a couple minutes no problem, the diode in there is 200mW not the 500mW ones used in the bigger devices.

Nexus - I appreciate the quick response! I may order the goggles at some point - better to be safe then sorry! Thanks for the reminder about taking it out in public - don't want to end up like that guy who pointed that <5mw at the airplane! I hear they're going to make an example out of him 
Anyway - very excited to get my first greenie... my excitement will be tempered with wisdom, responsibility, and cautiousness!  |
