I have seen these low power (28mW) diodes on eBay. They output 405nm, 660nm, and 780nm for the readers in the PS3. BRIR comes from blue-red-infrared. SO... making a pointer... one might make a two-color laser from one diode! Has anyone tried, or will try, this project? I've already seen people make blue modules out of them, but what about blue and red...?

Yeah I've tried that. I take it it's a standard PS3 diode.

The problem with it is that 660nm and 405nm focus differently so you might get one into a nice dot and the other into a big blob. the IR will also focus differently too
