I am thinking of purchasing one within two weeks. Is there any technical reason or newer generation coming up, so that I should delay my purchase?

What I have been told is that the batch they are sending out this week will have the switch fixed and the lens as well. I didn't hear about any other changes past the ones I've listed. I hope that helps.

The new batches have all the improvements added to them, so you will be fine to place an order whenever you want from this point on.

Thanks. Except for power, is there any significant technical difference in the three blue Spyder models

That should help, thanks Sean.
Does anyone own a blue Spyder and can relay their experiences to me. Are there any reviews of them?

There are few people, I believe that have ordered the blue spyders. You may be able to get some info on other Blue Spyder users from Steve.

I got one. It has the characteristic "excess glue around the lens" business that several folks have mentioned.
I don't know how the newer switches are characterized, but I think someone mentioned they are silent.
My switch definitely makes a "click" noise.

i think the click noise would be kinda cool

but then silent would be even better

Very Happy

Thanks Msnyder. Is the glue "feature" recent, and does it affect performance or looks a lot? I would prefer a silent switch.

The glue is thick around the lens as a sealant to help in the water resistance of the laser. It doesn't affect performance and you can only really see it when you inspect the lens up close.

No need to go scuba diving -- just shine your laser thru a bottle or glass of water!
Yes, the beam does show up real nice. Try other liquids as well! I get a kind of
yellow beam effect from beer -- which is curious, because when the beam comes
out the other side of the glass, it's green again!
