lots of people were asking questions about being able to pop balloons with lasers less powerful than the nexus (i guess there aren't any in the movie gallery)

here i popped this balloon in less than a second with one, and it was using cheap alkalines!

Edit:

ok, i guess it's not going to work, it's trying to open the .MOV file as wmp i think.

i should have changed the file extension before i uploaded, and i can't delete it since i uploaded it while i wasn't registered.

(i've made an account now though. and i uploaded an old movie of mine to test it, it was my final project in Animation back in grade 9 about 3 years ago:

another Edit:

i also realised that i was browsing the wrong forum in the tab i used to post this...

Couldn't see the video, but yeah a 55mW should have no problem poping a balloon.

i put the balloon on my computer, sat down in front of it, turned on the camera and shone the beam at the balloon. in less than a second it burst.

in fact, i was so surprised that it happened that fast that i flinched and accidently hit the button to stop recording.

With the use of a external lens or magnifying mirror, you should have no problem lighting matches and cutting electrical tape wtc, as well. Wink
